First part of the trip leads through enjoyable Soth Bohemian landscape to  the lakes area around a picturesque village of Trebon takes about 45 minutes. This part of South Bohemia is an idyllic park in which meadows and solitary oaks are mixed with deep woods, fields and sweeping lakes. The region began to flourish around the fortified towns of Trebon in the 13th century. Trebon reached its peak as centers of culture and commerce in the 16th century under the wealthy Rozmberk family. This unique old times picturesque little town is nowadays spa town and the center of Bohemian fishfarming industry.  Local beer has been produced in Trebon since 14th century, nowadays brand is called Regent. The exceptionally preserved historical core of the old town square, Trebon castle and former Augustinian Monastery, with its position on the banks of the Svět fishpond is a true South Bohemian jewel. Just before lunch time, we leave Trebon for Hluboka. Our journey continues through striking South Bohemian countryside and villages to reach the gem of the Czech castles, Hluboka castle - a piece of Windsor England in the middle of South Bohemia, which got its present appearance in the 19th century after a Neo-Gothic reconstruction. Hluboka Castle was originally founded as a guardian castle in the middle of the 13th century by Bohemian kings. The castle owes its current appearance to the Schwarzenberg family and is often described as the most beautiful Czech castle. Let's join one of group tours to the Hluboka castle representation rooms. The walls and ceilings of the interiors are richly decorated with wood carvings and covered in fine wood.  Some rooms are decorated with paintings by 16th to 18th century European masters, chandeliers, stained glass windows and Delft pottery. The tour takes about 1 hour and it is the only way for visitors to get to see the castle interiors. Our day ends with a stroll through Holasovice village, a UNESCO protected site, which is about 45 minute drive from Hluboka castle. This village keeps its local character since 19th century and it is a unique example of very local South Bohemian architecture.   Looking for something else? Send us a request here.
